The Druva Cloud Platform integration enables ThreatAware to collect read-only data from your Druva environment, providing visibility into data protection, backup status, and compliance metrics.

Setup instructions

Log in to Druva Cloud Platform Console

Access the Druva Cloud Platform Console with an administrator account.

Generate API Credentials

Navigate to API configuration:
  • Go to Settings > API Credentials in the Druva Cloud Platform
  • Click Generate New API Key to create a key specifically for ThreatAware
  • Set the necessary permissions, typically Read-only for monitoring
  • Copy both the API Key and API Secret that are generated
Ensure you copy both the API Key and API Secret immediately, as they are only displayed once.

Configure in ThreatAware

Complete the integration setup in ThreatAware:
  • Open ThreatAware, go to Integrations, and select Druva Cloud Platform
  • Enter the API Key into the designated field
  • Enter the API Secret into its corresponding field
  • Click Connect to establish the integration

Verify Connection

After connecting:
  • Check that the Integration Status shows as Active in ThreatAware
  • Verify that backup and data protection data is appearing in ThreatAware

Field Name: Druva API Key Type: String Description: The API key generated in your Druva Cloud Platform settingsThis key identifies your integration with Druva and must be kept confidential.
Field Name: Druva API Secret Type: Password (encrypted) Description: The API secret associated with your Druva API KeyStore this credential securely in your organisation’s password manager.

Verification and testing

After setup, verify the integration is working correctly:
  1. Check Integration Status
    • Navigate to Integrations in ThreatAware
    • Confirm the Druva Cloud Platform integration shows Active status
    • Review the last sync timestamp
  2. Verify Data Collection
    • Wait up to 60 minutes for initial data synchronization
    • Check that backup and data protection information appears in ThreatAware
    • Verify the data matches your Druva environment
  3. Test Queries
    • Create a test query to filter systems with Druva protection
    • Verify backup status and protection coverage data is being collected

Troubleshooting

Symptoms: Integration status shows authentication failureSolutions:
  • Verify that both the API Key and API Secret are correctly entered
  • Ensure neither credential has extra spaces or was truncated
  • Confirm the API credentials were generated in the correct Druva environment
  • Check if the credentials have been revoked or expired in Druva
  • Regenerate new credentials if the original ones are suspect
Symptoms: Integration connects but no data appearsSolutions:
  • Verify that the API Key permissions match ThreatAware’s access requirements
  • Confirm the API credentials have at least read-only permissions
  • Check the administrator account used to create the API Key is still active
  • Review Druva API Documentation for required permissions
  • Regenerate credentials with appropriate permissions if needed
Symptoms: Integration fails to connect or times outSolutions:
  • Verify the Druva Cloud Platform console is accessible and operational
  • Check firewall rules allow outbound HTTPS (443) to Druva’s API endpoints
  • Confirm your network connectivity to Druva is stable
  • Test accessing the Druva console directly in a browser
Symptoms: Integration shows active but no data appearsSolutions:
  • Verify there are data sources and backups in Druva to collect
  • Check that the API Key scope includes access to necessary resources
  • Wait for the next sync cycle (typically hourly)
  • Review ThreatAware integration logs for additional error details

Credential Management
  • Create a dedicated service account in Druva specifically for ThreatAware
