    • Verify protection status and threat events are visible
  3. Test Queries
    • Create a test query to filter devices by F-Secure protection status
    • Verify the data matches your F-Secure environment
    • Test filtering by threat or event data

Troubleshooting

Symptoms: Integration fails with authentication errorSolutions:
  • Verify the API key is entered correctly without extra spaces
  • Ensure the API key was copied completely from the F-Secure portal
  • Check that the API key has not expired
  • Generate a new API key if needed and update in ThreatAware
Symptoms: Integration connects but no data appearsSolutions:
  • Verify the API key has read permissions to:
    • Endpoint data
    • Threat and event logs
    • Device inventory
  • Check the API key permission level in F-Secure PSB
  • Review the F-Secure PSB API Documentation for required permissions
Symptoms: Integration fails to connect or times outSolutions:
  • Verify the F-Secure PSB portal is accessible and online
  • Check firewall rules allow outbound HTTPS access to F-Secure
  • Test connectivity to the F-Secure PSB API endpoint
  • Contact F-Secure support if service issues persist
Symptoms: Integration shows active but no F-Secure data appearsSolutions:
  • Verify there is endpoint data in F-Secure PSB to collect
  • Check the API key has sufficient permissions
  • Wait up to 1 hour for the initial data sync
  • Review ThreatAware integration logs for errors
  • Verify your F-Secure PSB instance has managed endpoints

Best practices

Credential Management
  • Generate a dedicated API key specifically for ThreatAware
  • Store the API key securely in your organisation’s password manager
  • Rotate API keys annually or per your security policy
  • Monitor for authentication failures in ThreatAware logs
Security Considerations
  • Only grant read permissions to the API key
  • Limit API key scope to necessary data endpoints
  • Review F-Secure audit logs periodically to monitor API usage
  • Follow your organisation’s least privilege principles
